Are Birds Driving You Crazy?
Protect Your Airplane Hangar From Droppings & Nesting Material
Your hangar was built to be a place of shelter for planes and aviation equipment. Not for birds (at least not the living kind). From avoiding maintenance costs and equipment damage to working in a toxic-free environment, we know how important it is to keep your hangars bird-free. Find a solution to keep those pesky birds from striking in your facilities again.

Products To Evict Birds From Your Hangar
Optical Gel
Small Solution. Big Protection.
Low‑profile gel dishes that deter perching, nesting, and roosting on I‑beams, railings, and flat surfaces. Reduce corrosive droppings and contamination that damage aircraft and hangar infrastructure with Optical Gel.
Installation: Optical Gel is easy to install. Clean the surface thoroughly with Dissolve-It. Then simply remove covers from dishes—then glue, magnetically affix or zip-tie to the affected area.
Target birds: Pigeons, starlings, sparrows, ravens, and crows
Longevity: Dishes are effective for 2-4 years.
Value: Ideal as a spot treatment where full‑ceiling netting isn’t practical or cost‑effective.
Installation Guidelines
Cleaning Instructions for Optical Gel
- Spray Dissolve-It, soak 20 minutes
- Scrub & remove ALL contamination
- Rinse with lots of water, wipe off
- Mist 10-30% diluted bleach, let dry
- Site is now ready!
Spacing Instructions for Optical Gel
Spacing is critical on high pressure & nesting. In order for the product to be most effective, 6 inch maximum spacing should be followed. Measure from the center of the disks to each other to create a grid like pattern of Optical Gel. Always remember to remove the lids!

Installation: Professional installation is recommended for gap‑free coverage and durability.
Target birds: All birds including pigeons, gulls, starlings, sparrows, ravens, and crows
Longevity: Designed for multi‑year service; typical warranty spans multiple years.
Value: Ideal for large open‑beam airplane hangars and maintenance bays where birds roost on rafters, I‑beams, and piping.

Bird Control Clean-Up
Bird Control Best Practice: Start with Cleanup
Effective bird control begins with proper cleanup. No product or solution will deliver lasting results if droppings and debris are left behind.
Bird Barrier provides a step-by-step guide to help you safely and thoroughly clear an area of bird droppings. By establishing a clean foundation, you ensure that your bird control efforts are both effective and sustainable.
Step 1: Moisten, Loosen Debris
Dried bird droppings will become airborne when disturbed (cleaned). It is important that they are wetted down to eliminate this risk. Wetting with a bactericide will kill the bacteria at the same time. With heavy accumulation it is necessary to wet down repeatedly.
Step 2: Scoop, Collect
It’s unlikely that large volumes of waste can simply be washed away; they need to be scooped up and removed in bags, and disposed of properly. Contact your local waste facility about the disposal of bird droppings.
Step 3: Wash
Once the majority of the waste is removed, the building surface can be washed with water, detergent and scrub brushes; or pressure washed. Use the Dissolve-It again, it’s a live enzyme that softens even the most stubborn waste.
Step 4: Sanitize
With all the waste now removed, and the building looking clean, it is recommended to finish the job properly by applying a bactericide that will sanitize the surfaces and leave a clean smell.
Step 5: Clean Around the Site
The building is clean, but the sidewalk’s a mess. Finish the job properly.
