Bird Slide for Bats
A residential home had a bat problem at their outside house. Bats were loafing in the top of the attic. Bats become a problem when they use an attic or other section of a home or building for a roosting or nursery colony. Accumulations of their droppings (guano) can cause odor and bug problems, which is the primary reason bats should be excluded from a structure occupied by people.
The residents had tried to get rid of the problem before. An installer had installed netting to keep the bats away, but that did not work, since the bats were sitting on, below and between the installed netting.
Regular bird control installer Joe Herrman at Capital Wildlife Solutions was called in, and he decided to install Bird Barrier’s Bird Slide. Bird Slide completely protects ledges against all bird species; they cannot get a grip and slide right off.
Bird Slide is easy to install. For ledges six inches, the flat base simply glues to any clean surface using Bird Barrier bond. “The installment was quite easy”, Joe said, ‘We removed the old netting first. It took 2 people 2.5 hours to install Bird Slide, and we used 32 feet of material.”
For this problem, Bird Slide offered an immediate solution. There were no bat droppings on the floor the next day, and the bats were gone. The customer was very satisfied with the Bird Slide solution.
